大分県津久見市に生まれる。3歳よりピアノを始める。幼少の頃から、自然の音や風景にインスピレーションを受け、詩や音楽を創る。 大分県立芸術短期大学教授、釈迦郡誠氏に師事。鹿児島国際大学短期音楽科卒業。同大学大学院ピアノコース修了。ウィーンへ留学。 ウィーン国立音楽大学教授Prof.Grate Dihiler氏に師事。帰国後、ピアニスト フジ子ヘミング氏に師事。 現在、パリと福岡に拠点を置き、日本、フランス、ベルギー、オランダ、中国、シンガポール、インドネシアなど国際的に活発な演奏活動を行っている。 近年は、アートや舞踏、プレタポルテ、能楽などとのコラボレーションを展開し、新しい美の世界を打ち出し続けている。また、万葉集を独自の音楽に 創造した作品は、2006年 黒沢明短編集コンペティションのグランプリを獲得したベルギー映画、芥川龍之介「お富」の挿入歌になる。 自作の曲で自然の美や心の内奥を表現し、国境、人種を問わず全ての人に語りかける。

 

Junko Sakura was born in Oita, Japan and started playing the piano when she was three years old. From a young age, her musical and poetic compositions were inspired by the sounds of nature which Junko heard around her.
After graduating from the International University of Kagoshima’s Department of Music, Junko completed her postgraduate diploma in piano. She later went to study in Vienna, where she was under the tutelage of Professor Grate Dihiler.
After returning to Japan, Junko studied under the pianist Ingrid Fujiko Hemming. Between 2004 and 2010, she was based in Paris and performed in various countries including Japan, France, Holland, Belgium, Singapore and China.
In 2006, Junko was asked to play some of her compositions for a Belgian film based on Ryunosuke Akutagawa’s novel “Otomi”.
Junko Sakura’s music can be enjoyed by people from all over the world as it expresses both the beauty of nature and the depths of the human heart.
